Return to Truck, Bus & Coach WashesTruck, Bus & Coach Washes: Drive Through
Samson C400
The
‘Samson C400’ drive-through vehicle wash machine provides
a perfect solution to the washing needs of any large fleet of commercial
vehicles. Capable of efficiently washing buses, coaches, trucks or vans,
the ‘Samson’ is a valuable resource for any transport company
that takes pride in the presentation of its fleet.
Designed as high throughput machine, around eighty buses an hour can be
efficiently washed.
Manufactured from heavy duty carbon steel and ‘hot
dip’ galvanized for a weatherproof and protective finish, the equipment
offers rugged reliability at a realistic price. A high grade stainless
steel version is also available providing extended service life and extra
protection from even the most arduous environment. Washing moving vehicles
with a drive-through type machine enables high volume fleet operators
to clean their vehicles much faster than
conventional
moving gantry wash systems are capable of. To safely and efficiently wash
the fronts of vehicles with forward protruding near/side rear view mirrors,
as fitted on some new articulated buses, a special model is available
with an extended front swing arm. A 12 metre long bus can be thoroughly
washed in only 45 seconds and with the optional roof wash blanket every
surface of the vehicle is cleaned. Additional water reclamation equipment
can be supplied to ensure low cost operation.
1A strategically placed traffic light indicates that the system is ready and the vehicle then enters the machine, this automatically starts the pre-rinse, brush rotation and brush sprays. The first brush encountered is pushed by the vehicle diagonally across the front of the bus or truck.
2 The vehicle continues through the machine and encounters the second brush which cleans the opposite side of the front area of the vehicle. All brushes then wash the sides of the vehicle as it passes through and automatically adjust their position to suit vehicle width.
3 When the rear of the vehicle is sensed the two rear arms swing in and across to ensure thorough washing of the rear is accomplished. As the truck or bus leaves the wash pad it is thoroughly rinsed by the final rinse arch to ensure that all remaining loose soil and any detergent residue is removed to avoid spotting and streaking.
